Went to an estate sale yesterday and found this sword . The sword is eat up and seen better days but the price was right . They also had another WWI nco sword but it was so rusted I couldn't even put the sword back into the scabbard.

It's a bit rough and damaged. Prussian, post 1910 ( from scabbard features), but the most interesting aspect is it is an issued weapon (#95), rather than a private purchase sword. Most that we see these days are the private purchase swords that spent most of their lives in a dry wardrobe.
Hi Anderson that's one of the things that sold me . I believe they had it hanging on a wall and did the damage to make it fit closer or flatter to the wall.
Westfälisches Ulanen-Regt. Nr.5 (Düsseldorf) VII Armee Korps, 3rd squadron, weapon#95
Thank you for the info . I didn't even know where to start looking . Gary
