Unfortunately, the picture is not large/clear enough to fully make out the text on the sign. After fiddling around a bit with re-sizing and sharpening the image, the best I could come up with is this...:
...It says:
"DER AUFENT-
HALT
[illegible]
IST VERBOTEN"
...Meaning that this is simply some generic safety- and/or security-related sign displaying the notice that it is forbidden to be at the illegible location/spot/zone/danger area.
So, it has no special significance and offers no information about the nature of the group, location or occasion; it is obviously just displayed as a visual joke.
Maybe, maybe not: Nothing in the photo contradicts or supports that claim.
No one I recognize. The photo was taken ca. 1933-1935; the men giving the Nazi salute are members of the DLV [Deutscher Luftsportverband]. Maybe they are comrades of the bridegroom.
Thank you HPL for the help,
why would the "Deutscher Luftsportverband" be at that wedding? did they always go to a soldiers wedding or just a soldier of a high rank?
is there any luck on the feld-post? it would be interesting to know what it says, i cant undertsand the writing even if it was in english "lol"
thanks,
-Patrick
