Sorry for the mistyped title. Can a moderator modify it?
To my knowledge, Rucksack were not made from Tarnung or camouflage material. It would appear to be either a period field made Rucksack using Zeltbahn material or perhaps a post war manufactured piece. Look for signs of Zeltbahn construction marks left behind such as edging or buttonholes. As for origination, most likely a post war hiker. I defer to others with more insight regarding the origination. NH
Might be Bundeswehr from 1950's.
Thank you!
expanding on Neil's post, zelts were cut up for refugee use also.
50's BW splinter pattern is not reversible (printed on one side only) and of a more pale colour.
pictured here is the BGS 50's pattern which is also of a more pale colour.

I edited the title for you
It probably is a post war item, made from zeltbahn..... indeed, no tarn rucksacks were issued during ww2 (officially)
I can’t imagine this being a Bundeswehr item as well.... the BGS did use the original splitter tarnung after the war, but they also didn’t issue them..... (and BGS zeltbahne are different layout and white on the inside.....
Tom
Thank you! : - )
I must say that this "bleed" in the pattern (certainly WW2 & not Swiss) you have is very interesting! I have never ever seen this before! for me it's a keeper
I like when I can show you strange an unique things!
