Great picture! Notice the name painted on the panzer - Gotz Von Berlichingen!
The men are, from left ot right, Hermann Bolte, Hartmut Braun, Wolfgang Otto and Friedrich-Wilhelm Graun, photographed in late autumn 1943.
The assault gun named "Götz von Berlichingen" was Ernst-August Krag's command vehicle at the time.
Wow Thanks for the information. This makes this picture even beter to have in the collection.
I'm sorry, but it is a fake from Ukraine. Assistance with Id'ing Fake Photographs
Was this an ebay purchase? The 'Russian archive' story is a favourite amongst certain dodgy ebayers who are quite handy with walloping photos with Russian stamps and a scribble of pencil.
Next time you find something you like, please post a photo here on the forum first. That can save you for some headache.
Thats a bummer. No i didn't got it from ebay. Next time i will post it first. Thanks for the reply's
It is quite likely original then.
Sorry to say so, but in Germany these so called "russian archive prints" are not considered genuine at all.
