Smallest? How much smaller than 'regular' badges is it? And conversely, how big is the 'biggest' Infanterie badge?
Smallest? How much smaller than 'regular' badges is it? And conversely, how big is the 'biggest' Infanterie badge?
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
When talking about the smallest I was referring to the measurements of the "X" and "Y" axis. The HA examples in my collection have an "X" axis measurement of 46mm and the "Y" is 60mm. Of course these measurements are subjective as a Dial Caliper was used to measure the badge (depending on placement) and variation is found between (like) examples.
As to the largest, I would say the F&BL (measurements) and the Wurster (weight) examples are the biggest. The F&BL examples are tops when measured; X = 49mm and Y = 64mm.
I have seen a zinc Wurster that weighed in at 40.7 grams! The true Heavyweight of the Infanterie Sturmabzeichen world.
Best Regards, fischer
