Yours is most definitely a "JWS". For Johan Wagner and Sohn. The image I posted is
a clearly marked JWS. MOST "JWS" crosses I have seen have a mark that much more resembles yours. The "S" is usually hard to make out. I believe that the stamp was just
a bit too big to fit the curve of the ring.

Do the frame and core on my cross match known "JWS" marked crosses, Greg?
I just did a bit of cutting and pasting and I over laid the original JWS mark (on
orange background) picture that I posted over your JWS mark. You can see
they are a real good match. Yours is the ring on the top and my example is
the one below it.

I found a makers list showing "JW" to be J.H. Werner, Berlin. Any thoughts on that?- Kenneth
Kenneth, I agree with Greg regarding the marking on your cross, "JW" and "JWS" being the known WW1 mm for "Johann Wagner and Sohn" Berlin, prior to WW1 they had used "J.WAGNER & S" (this I believe is the mark that the "J" looks like an "I") and "W", they made both the EK I and EK II. The mark for J.H.Werner being both "JHW" and "J.H.WERNER BERLIN" as far as I am aware they only made the EK I. It can be very confusing, I hope I got it right !
Prost ! Steve.

I do have a picture of a JWS cross that does match yours. Both the core details
and also the frame beading at the inner corners. I do not have the owners permission
to post it but if you like, send me a PM with your email address and I will send a copy
to you. (as long it is for your own use and not posted)

I'll take your word for it Greg - as I believe you are a much better judge of the characteristics of Imperial crosses than I am
Have not been active on this thread for a while and boy have I missed alot! Great crosses guys I recently took a few pics so here they are. A cased KAG and a Fr.
Thanks Steve I think you have the same stands in your collection As much as everyone rags on ebay I get alot of cool stuff from there but lately I think my luck has run dry
