Hello
What are your thoughts on this medal bar?
The AL Valore medal is named ( Horst Schenk)
The October 38 medal is marked L/11 on the bottom of the medal.
Could this person been in the Spanish civil war?
Thank you very much
Tony

Hello Tony,
It looks like an Italian Military Valour medal my guess dating from WW1. So I wouldn't have thought it had anything to do with the Spanish Civil War.
Doug
The Italian Medal of Military Valor is rather from WW2 (in WW1 Italy was member of anti-German Entente), this type was awarded until 1943. There is no direct indication with Spanish Civil war (but is not excluded). Many Germans were awarded with this medal during African campaign

Tomasz is correct it is the ww2 version not that of ww1. The first world war AL Valore medal is also a lot thicker, white being a more uncommon medal bar the AL Valore medal was awarded to Germans in
N.Africa, Tunisia and Italy up to 1943.
