Rust removal on an M40

Article about: Gents, I purchased a rusted out shell of an M40 to convert into a lamp shade. Lots of rust flakes, pin holes and areas of very thin metal. Without using electrolysis or chemical baths I was

    Thanks Bill. Helmet gets real hot. Need to swap out the bulb for and LED

    Yes, I was about to say that. Mine did too until I put an LED bulb in it.

    Funny you say that. I was expecting to quickly drill through the top of the shell given how corroded it was. But below that rust was some rock hard steel. Took a bit of effort to finally drill through it.

    The 2.700 Kelvin LED give you the warm light and the 4,00 Kelvin is the bright white with that tint of blue tone. I like the warm light.

    I made one a while back - but I think I went a bit overloaded with stuff, MAPs looks less busy to me
