    Hi Humbers,

    I'm sorry to have to tell you that this badge is a fake. They come in gold too, the same obverse design is also used on black versions of alledged Hauptmunzamt wound badges. The bar pin is inccorrect, the laurel leaves are wrong, the ribbon bow as well, and the sword handles are more like shapeless sausages compared to the refined original design.

    Here's a fake the same as yours, only in gold:

    Hopefully you can get a refund on this piece.

    Thanks for the heads up Ned. Honestly I bought it to put on a tunic, and did not pay very much for it. It would be lovely on a LW tunic.i picked it up with an all matching early K98 bayonet 1940 E. u. F Horster.

    BTW. It looks outstanding on the tunic it pops! Better than the black one I had on it.
