BGS helmets "in service" of the Bereitschaftspolizei ?

regarding this thread:
Postwar German used M40 stalhelm

I wanna show this, (at first glance), BGS, (Bundesgrenzschutz), helmet.

Nice, "BGS" lid, but, the helmet show´s the decals of the Bereitschaftspolizei, (riot police), of the Hansestadt Hamburg ! ...

Did "serve" any BGS -helmets in the Bereitschaftspolizei actually , or, any "Bubba" affixed spare decals upon helmets of the BGS to "upvalue" them ? ...

IMO the decals are corresponding to the helmet.


It´s an "M 40 pattern -style" helmet showing the very "early" Innenausstattung, (liner) 53, ("I 53"), without liner vents frontal.

"Vents" on both sides of the shell.

Size of the shell: 64
Size of the liner: 53-57

The Innenausstattung 53, ("I 53"), is showing liner vents frontal.

No "Vents" on both sides of the shell.

Hello,

I consider the "Hamburger" M53 to be a BGS helmet, which has been "upgraded" with repro stickers.

The rough paintwork is also typical for BGS.

The helmet itself is a later BGS helmet with a bell from the last manufacturer VDN, which supplied the BGS until the 1990s.
The paint is also the last version in mint green RAL 6029 from 1976.


You can recognize the repro badge relatively easily by the red overprint on the marked areas. The original is cleanly cut out.
In addition, the brickwork is simply too black instead of hatched in the marked areas.

In addition, these helmets have the 2 badge of Hamburg with the white castle and not the cream / beige. The paint on the Hamburg helmets is smooth.
